Tolerance is Good Business
Before Christmas this year, I sent out a message which offered a wish for a good holiday season to all readers. I was surprised to get a message from one reader who was clearly annoyed that I didn't specify that I was wishing people a Merry Christmas. My reason for offering a generic greeting is an obvious one that many businesses also use as a guide. While there is a great many people in our country and around the world that are Christian and celebrate Christmas, there are many others that have other religious beliefs...we have people that are Islamic, Jewish, Hindu atheist or agnostic just to name a few. By offering a generic greeting, the hope is to avoid stepping on anyone's toes and still manage to express your good wishes for this time of year. It's my belief that one of the things that makes the United States such a great nation is the concern we give to the people that are not the majority. It's because we may not care for what some people believe but we believe in their right to choose what they will believe in. So, whether it's in business or in your personal life, I suggest that having tolerance for others with different viewpoints than your own will likely enrich you financially and personally. If you guessed Uncle Sam, you were right. Many people mistakenly think that you've got to be a big corporation to sell to the government, but nothing is further from the truth. The federal government eagerly seeks out small businesses to buy from. And, the government buys everything from paper clips to lawn cutting services. One contract with the federal government could catapult your business to a whole new level of success. For more information on this interesting opportunity, follow this link below:
