Sacrifice a Little to Gain a Lot

    Specifically, I'm talking about when it comes to developing new business relationships.  I recently accepted a deal with some new partners that I could've possibly demanded a higher payout from.  Instead, I chose to accept what they offered which was reasonable, but not generous.  My thinking is that the acceptance of this deal is an investment in the relationship.  It's a little bit like "penny wise--pound foolish."  Sometimes you can be much better off over the long term, but sacrificing a little bit in the beginning.
